Our Mission

Pioneering Watersport Excellence

Kelab Sukan Powerboat F3000 (reg. no. 4603/2011), is a registered sports body under Section 17 of the Sport Development Act 1997 and is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia.

Established in 2011, the club is dedicated to promoting and advancing the F3000 class powerboat racing in the country. The club has gained significant recognition for its contributions to powerboat racing, a sport that combines speed, precision and adrenaline-pumping excitement. With its focus on nurturing talent, organising events and fostering a strong community of enthusiasts, Kelab Sukan Powerboat F3000 has been a driving force in elevating the growth and popularity of the sport.

A Legacy of Excellence in Powerboat Racing

The F3000 class of powerboat racing, which the club specialises in, is known for its fast and powerful boats. These single-seater catamarans are capable of reaching speeds over 160kph with the ability to turn hard and fast in a single hard pin corner pulling in an excess of 3Gs.

Races often take place in challenging water conditions, making the sport both thrilling for spectators and demanding for participants.  An F3000 powerboat running at maximum speed on the ragged edge is truly an amazing sight of agility, power and balance. Races are typically run in a closed circuit of twenty laps covering a distance of 25km.

Focus on Talent Development

One of the key missions of Kelab Sukan Powerboat F3000 Malaysia is to identify and develop new talent in the sport. Through partnerships with local and international motorsport organisations, the club offers its members access to collaborative training and opportunities to compete in high-profile events. This gives aspiring powerboat racers the chance to gain exposure and improve their skills whilst fostering a sense of camaraderie within the racing community.

Promoting International Collaborations

Kelab Sukan Powerboat F3000 has also invited international collaboration with pilots, teams and associations from around the world. Last year's race that was held in Kuantan in August 2024 boasted pilots from eight different countries: Brazil, New Zealand, the United States, Brunei, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia.

These partnerships allow the club to stay at the forefront of developments in powerboat technology and racing techniques, whilst giving its members opportunities to meet and race with international competitors.
